Sambalpur: Cyber fraudsters debited lakhs from credit cards
Sambalpur: Vijayalakshmi Das of Gujarati Colony, Sambalpur town police station, has become a victim of cyber fraud. The fraudster has been deducting lakhs of rupees from her credit card.
According to police information, a few days ago, Vijayalakshmi submitted a request letter to Axis Bank to close the credit card. After few days, she received a call from a cyber fraudster. He claimed to be a bank official and requested for credit card activation. He then asked for her card number and other details. After being asked for the OTP, she also gave the OTP. Then the cyber fraudster deducted Rs 99,519 from her account. She came to know that she was a victim of fraud after receiving a call from the bank. Then she lodged a written complaint at the Sambalpur Town police station on Tuesday. The police have registered a case and started investigating the incident.
