Sambalpur: Dav Whatmore in Action; Special Cricket Camp in VSS Stadium, Sambalpur
Sambalpur: A popular international cricket academy and a local school have collaborated to conduct an entertaining cricket training camp. Sambalpur’s Vedic International School has partnered with CricKingdom Cricket Academy, started by Indian cricket player Rohit Sharma, to host a three-day cricket camp at the Veer Surendra Sai Stadium.
What makes this camp truly special is the involvement of Dav Whatmore, a former Australian cricketer and head coach of Sri Lanka’s World Cup-winning side. Whatmore traveled to Sambalpur to personally train the participants in the three-day camp.
The first day of the camp was held under the supervision of Whatmore and it turned out a remarkable turnout of over 70 young cricketers and students from Sambalpur and other parts of Western Odisha. These young cricketers take advantage of this rare opportunity to learn from the greatest in the profession.
Anand Agrawal, Director of Vedic Education, is excited about the camp, saying it will not only improve the standard of cricket education but also create an international platform for participants to showcase their talent and pursue cricket at the highest level.
