Sambalpur: Death of Visut student Chinmayi Priyadarshini Sahu is a Mystery !! When will the viscera report come?
BURLA: Two weeks have passed since the death of Visut student Chinmayi Priyadarshini Sahu, but the police have not been able to unravel the mystery. While the post-mortem report states that Chinmayi’s death was drowned in water, it is still unclear whether she committed suicide or someone pushed her into the power channel with the intention of killing her. The police said that the diatom report and the viscera report of the dead Chinmayi would actually reveal the mystery of Chinmayi’s death while the police were investigating from different angles. The diatom report was received by the police on Friday and now the police is waiting for the viscera report.
Usually in cases of toxic death or homicide, the viscera of the deceased are preserved and sent to the State Forensic Lab (SFL). Diatom and viscera samples are collected and tested in cases of drowning. A diatom test can determine whether the girl drowned while alive or was thrown into the water to appear suicidal after being killed. However, Chinmayi’s diatom report did not reveal any such dubious facts. The SP informed the media that it is known that she died due to drowning. He further said that further investigation is going on as no evidence has been found yet that she was killed. Viscera sample sent.
“Investigating officer asks State Forensic Lab (SFL) to prepare report soon, report comes soon”
Notably, the viscera sample reveals whether the deceased had consumed drugs or poison. Chinmayi’s viscera sample has been sent to the State Forensic Lab (SFL). From this viscera report, it will be clear whether she has taken drugs or not. Chinmayi’s post-mortem report and diatom report revealed that she died by drowning in water, now it is hoped that the viscera report will lead the way in unraveling the mystery of Chinmayi’s death.
There is only one laboratory in the capital Bhubaneswar for viscera testing in the entire state. From there the report is taking a long time. Some Visara reports are taking more than 6 months to arrive. A senior police officer said that some viscera reports have been coming for years. However, according to him, if there is a sensitive case and the investigating officer requests the SFL to prepare a report quickly, the report comes quickly. Now it remains to be seen whether the Burla police will take this case seriously and request the SFL to prepare the viscera report as soon as possible or delay the report as the viscera sample was sent 9 days after Chinmayi’s death.
