Sambalpur: Department of Enforcement became the pet of the contractor; The road made during Sasthi was washed away by the rain
Sambalpur: Laxmi Talkies to Modipada Street. Modipada to Farm Road. Budharaja road from Ainthapali. Before the 6th, Pichu Patch (Pothal) was lying on all the roads. Repairs costing lakhs of rupees. After the first rain, everything is washed up. Pichu comes out and lies on the road. Once again the main road of the city is repaired every year in Sasthi. Crores of rupees are being spent, 3 months are required. It is not a matter of one year, every year billions of rupees are spent on road repairs by the Department before the arrival of Sasthi.
The road leading from Modipada to Farm Road has a huge ditch in the middle of the road which has been formed by heavy rains. This road was repaired before the Sasthi. Pichu was put and rolling done. But washed up after the rain. It is often seen that the wheels slip off while driving. Therefore, the residents of the city have asked the former department whether there is any benefit in repairing the road. The main roads of the city are in the hands of all the former sections.
It is said that this is done every year before the 6th of the year to get the goods number. Fatak to Ainthpali, Jailchowk to Municipal Road, Khetrajpur to Remed, Panchgachia to Railway Underbridge, and Ashoka Talkies Road to Sakhipada Road are in a state of disrepair. So people used to demand the repair of the road.
The work is awarded to a handful of contractors without tenders citing the lengthy construction process. The cost per job is less than 5 lakh rupees. They devalue this work and hand it over to senior officers. This has been going on for many years. No new roads should be built. The surprising thing is that despite the tender for this main road, the road could not be built. There has been a demand to build these roads for a long time. But the former department is only completing the repair work. In this matter, however, the former department has not opened its mouth. The official declined to respond.
