Sambalpur: Despite the Supreme Court’s warning , High Court Bench Demand in Western Odisha continues, Office, court locked, Judges forced to return home
Sambalpur: The high court bench movement started by the residents of the area for the rights of mother soil has not stopped in Sambalpur. The Bar Association has not obeyed the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Despite the Supreme Court’s warning, the Sambalpur District Bar’s Association continues its agitation demanding a High Court bench in West Odisha. All government offices have been closed by picketing. All government offices, starting from the office of the Northern RDC, District Collector, Sub-District Collector, are locked.
Meanwhile, the judges could not go to the courtroom due to the protest at National Mandela Street. All the judges, including the District Judge, have been forced to return home due to strong opposition from lawyers. A large police force was deployed to protect the judge. But lawyers and common people persisted in their insistence and continued the agitation.
