Sambalpur: Disorders in DHH, anesthesiologist on leave on surgery day, surgery stopped
The Sambalpur District General Hospital has no doctors at all in some departments while fortunately there are two specialist doctors in the critical anesthesia department. This type of anesthesiologist is needed for all types of surgery. However, for the past two weeks, these doctors have been accused of being on leave during the days of surgery. As a result, the rural population in the village is facing the problem of missing out on surgery. According to the Social Star Club, a social organization, many patient are forced to return without surgery. Atif Alam, the club’s secretary general, questioned how the district chief medical officer allowed both doctors to go on leave during the surgery. In this regard, the Chief Medical Officer-in-Charge, Dr. Ashok Das questioned, he said he had received the complaint today. He did not know the exact cause of the death and asked about the incident tomorrow, he said that if the allegations were true, the necessary steps would be taken and that both doctors would not be on leave at the time of surgery.
