Sambalpur: Dissatisfaction among the displaced people of Ghunghuti para due to Samlei Scheme

Administration has turned a Blind eye

Sambalpur: Due to financial difficulties, isplaced people of Ghunghuti para are not able to build the roof of their house. They are run out of government funding up and build the house up to roof. Now more than 100 families are unable to build the house. The displaced committee has demanded compensation. The complaint of this committee was that the administration announced that the displaced colony would be converted into a high-tech colony, and after making many promises, the administration evicted them from their homes, but once they left their homes, no one listened to them. Roads, water, lights, parks, community centers, welfare pavilions, clubhouses, colony walls etc. have not been fulfilled so far. The committee demanded that the administration should make its plans public if hi-tech projects are to be implemented. According to the displaced committee, the villagers who were unable to complete their housework due to difficulties in paying the compensation submitted their claims to the District Collector and the Uttaranchal Revenue Collector on August 26th and 30th. But as no one listened, they went to Bhubaneswar on September 12 and presented the demand letter to the Chief Minister.

Last October 7, they again gave the claim letter to the District Collector and RDC. The committee alleged that the administration was not interested in talking to them at all. Before leaving the house, they were told that they would be given all kinds of assistance in building a new house. Now the administration has turned a blind eye to them. Officials say that they are not aware of whether there will be a welfare pavilion in the colony that has been relocated to Gunghutipada. More than 140 families of the old Gunghutipada are building houses in the displaced colonies after receiving compensation from the government. So far, more than 100 families have not been able to put a roof over their heads. Committee members Dilip Kukhar, Bhagirathi Deep, Ram Mahanand, Pinku Nand, Ramesh Deep, Pankaj Nag, Nab Bagh, Govinda Suna, Niranjan Luhu, Shantanu Deep, said that the local government should be sympathetic to their plight and provide equal compensation.
