Sambalpur: Dr. Ramchandani Honored as Art of Giving Hero on the International Art of Giving Day
Sambalpur: The International Art of Giving Day is celebrated all over the world. The “Art of Giving” initiative started by educationist and social activist Achyut Samanta Ray on May 17th, 2013 to promote mutual help, peace, friendship and harmony in the society has now spread all over the world. This year the theme is “Helping the Help“. On this occasion, in a special program in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, 6 people serving the society in different areas of Odisha were honored with the honor of “Art of Giving” heroes.
Shankar Ramchandani, a prominent doctor of Sambalpur, Burla, who gained fame as a one rupee doctor., Ranchita Rath, a female health worker in Jajpur district, Asha worker Shilavati Pradhan of Kandhamal District, Ambulance driver Amarnath Mahanath of Keonjhar district. Commissionerate Police Traffic Constable Feroz Muhammad and Avarani Chowdhury, secretary of Rescue Society, was honored with the Art of Giving Hero honor.
In this program, the chief adviser to the Chief Minister, R. Balakrishnan was the chief guest while Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, State Higher Education Department and Baba Ram Narayan Das, Founder President of Bhubaneswar Unit-II Shriram Temple, were the chief guests.
Achyut Samanta, founder of Art of Giving gave a welcome speech and the six-month Art of Giving course booklet and Art of Giving souvenirs were unveiled by the guests.
