Sambalpur: Dr. Shankar Ramchandani’s One Rupee Clinic Marks Three Years, Introduces ECG and Nebulizer Services, Benefitted 50,000 People
Sambalpur: Dr. Shankar Ramchandani, a specialist at the Veer Surendra Sai Biology and Research Institute (VIMSAR), which is well-known throughout the country, is back in the spotlight for giving medical care to patients through One Rupee Clinic. A clinic opened today to provide ECG tests and nebulizer services to low-income patients for one rupee. Today is the third anniversary of Dr. Ramachani’s One Rupee Clinic. On this occasion, he has launched a mobile medical service with the ability to test and delegate services. Until present, more than 50 thousand 200 patients have been treated at the One Rupee Clinic in Padampur, Burla, Bargarh District. He also offers medicines to patients for one rupee at certain periods. However, on February 12, 2021, he started his One Rupee clinic. On the other side, he uses his car to transport the patients.
Dr. Ramachandan inaugurated his new venture today, with the help of a Junapani Kund Colony resident. Inspired by his parents, he established the One Rupee Clinic three years ago after witnessing the challenges faced by people during Corona. Dr. Ramchandani said, “He has done human service and medical students should also follow this path of service.” He expressed the opinion that there is no harm in selfless service. The addition of two new services at the One Rupee Clinic will benefit the poor and heart patients. It is said that this type of ECG and nebulizer service is the first in the country. It is worth noting that Dr. Ramchandani has been recognized both within and outside the state for his remarkable contribution.
