Sambalpur: Drunk Youth Causes Chaos; Fell Asleep in Car Blocking Mudipada Road
Sambalpur: An incident involving a reckless youth caused a disturbance and traffic chaos in the city yesterday. In the morning, a young man was driving a car (OD-15-X-6446) from Lakshmi Talkies towards Mudipada. However, near the Mudipada petrol pump, the vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of the road.
People initially thought the car had broken down and went to check on the situation. To their surprise, they found the young driver asleep in the car, with a beer bottle in his hand. He was so drunk that he didn’t respond when people tried to wake him up, and the car was locked.
This incident caused a traffic jam on the road for about an hour. Concerned citizens informed the town police about the situation. Eventually, the police arrived and managed to rescue the drunken youth.
The event occurred at a time when the city was preparing for the general elections, which were less than a month away. The police administration has been preparing for a smooth election process, which includes regular patrols and vehicle checks in various places.
Authorities are also on high alert to tackle illegal drug trafficking in Sambalpur, which has seen a spike in drug-related activity. While the police have implemented strict guidelines to deal with the drug trade, traffickers are still discovering ways to smuggle drugs into the city.
