Sambalpur: Elderly woman seriously injured in wild cat attack, 11 others injured
Bamra: An unfortunate incident took place on Saturday night in Salangabud village under Dharuadihi police station. An old woman was seriously injured in the wild attack and 11 other villagers were injured. According to information, a wild cat entered Salangabud village at around 9 pm last night and attacked the villagers one by one. Gurbari Pruseth (65) of the village was seriously injured after being bitten on the eyes, nose and face. Similarly, 3 other people were also attacked at night. On receiving the news, Sundargarh ACF Mohan Hembram ranger Arun Behera, Subasini Kess of Salepali Forest, Bargad Forester S. Buda, Forest Guard Julie Patel and the staff reached the village and searched the whole night but could not find the wild animal. But the cat again attacked and injured 78 people between 3 am and 5 am. All of them are undergoing treatment at the Sundargarh District General Hospital. However, at 9:30 in the morning, the forest department recovered the body of the wild cat from the nearby Manmunda Patra forest. His body was mutilated and buried in Sundargarh.
