Sambalpur: Even judges are not being left at the toll gate, they have to pay the toll tax
Sambalpur: A meeting of the District Consumer Protection Council was held today in the district council conference room under the chairmanship of Additional District Collector Ajambar Mohanty. The members expressed concern in the meeting regarding the toll gate between Sambalpur-Jharsuguda on State Highway No. 10. When there is no minimum facility at the toll gate, he arbitrarily raised the toll rates repeatedly in the meeting. Other highways have a Fastag system. But, since Fastag is not implemented here, one has to wait for a long time to pay the tax at the toll gate. This episode was raised by the members of DCDRC, Sambalpur President Ramakant Shetpathi highlighted in detail the work of the Consumer Protection Act 2019, District Consumer Protection Council, and its members and said that even judges like him are not being left at the toll gate, they have to pay the toll. It was decided to inform the state government about all the problems related to the said toll gate that arose in the meeting. In the meeting, Rangali MLA Nauri Naik, District Council President Kumodini Naik, Sambalpur MLA’s representative Sameer Ranjan Babu, Rebachhol MLA’s representative Gopiranjan Behera remained silent in the meeting and made various proposals.
