Sambalpur: Evicts cancer patients takes refuge on the cremation ground
Sambalpur: A cancer patient was kicked out of the house on the pretext of smell. The villagers did not extend a helping hand. The couple took refuge in a cremation ground near Ambatota adjoining the village, finding no other option. Such a heartbreaking picture has come to light from the Kulundi panchayat area of Jamankira block of Sambalpur district. Undu Naik, 60, of Kadalipala village in Jamankira block. The family lived in the Belpahar area. For some reason, his wife and son kicked him out. Undu was forced to move to his hometown of Kadalipal. He had a brother in the village but did not support him. In this case, he married a widow in the Kulundi area a few years back. He lived in the Putibandha area of Sambalpur and worked as a laborer. However, Undu was suddenly diagnosed with cancer. Borrowing money, came to Vimsar for treatment. He was referred to Cuttack from Vimsar. He lived in Cuttack for about three months. However, he did not recover completely. The doctor advised her to return. However, he had trouble getting to the village. Undu’s brother-in-law and son-in-law abused him and kicked him out of the house. The villagers advised him to be admitted to the hospital.
He rushed to the hospital with an autorickshaw. However, he was returned from there also. In such a situation, he lives in cremation ground Ambatotai, adjacent to the village. Undu’s second wife, Mamata Naik, wept as she took refuge in the wreckage. Undu can no longer walk. He is bedridden. He has no money. There is nothing to eat. we have been in a lot of trouble since yesterday. We couldn’t even rent a rickshaw. Humanity is dead. The administration needs to extend a helping hand to them immediately.
