Sambalpur: If you drink alcohol, be careful. Fake liquor has been seized again in Sambalpur within 7 months. Last March, Sambalpur’s excise department seized a huge quantity of fake liquor. Keeping in view the demand for the festive season, fake liquor is now available in the city. On Wednesday, the Sambalpur Excise Department again busted the sale of fake liquor in Sambalpur.
According to the information of Rajendra Bothra, Deputy Superintendent of Excise Department, the team under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent of Excise Department, Sambalpur District Excise Department team jointly raided the Ranikhinda area under Sasan Thana.
This time also the tuition master was arrested
8 liters of Spirit, 5 liters of fake liquor, 5700 fake excise labels, 345 fake bottle caps, and a sealing machine were seized from the house of Tuition Master Saroj Behera of Ranikhinda. The estimated value of the confiscated goods will be 50 thousand rupees, said the excise department. The excise department has arrested Saroj in this case.
According to the instructions of the Commissioner of the Department of Excise, Narsing Bhola, a special drive against fake liquor has been continued by the Department of Excise from the 10th to the 24th.
Saroj was already jailed before
Just like you can see the bottle, the liquid inside the bottle, you can’t tell if it is fake by looking at the seal on the bottle. But the incident came to light after a Tution teacher was caught again dealing fake liquor. Accused Saroj, who was arrested, had passed the subject of Chemistry while he tutored science stream +2 students and was making fake liquor. Saroj was arrested and jailed in the month of March after being caught while dealing in fake liquor. After getting out of jail, the fake liquor empire was running again. Goods were being brought from Kolkata. After preparing the fake liquor, it was sent to different areas of Bargarh, Sonepur, and Sambalpur districts. On May 5 last year, the Sambalpur excise department caught a gang making fake liquor.
