Sambalpur: Fake saints (ଭଣ୍ଡବାବା) deceived women, robbed ornaments

There have been many cases where the fake saint (ଭଣ୍ଡବାବା) have targeted people by saying such fear-inducing things or by showing the desire to do something very good. A woman from Sambalpur also lost her gold jewellery after falling under the spell of this fake saints on Tuesday.

According to the information received from the police, Sunita Agarwal (47) of Khetrajpur area went for an evening walk on Tuesday at 5 pm. 2 fake saints stopped him near Khetrajpur railway gate and told her that they would tell the future. Sunita also fell in trap. They first sent her to get Corpur. A fake saint also went with her. Then without wearing any jewellery they asked her to leave Moho Maya and meditate. The gold bangles and necklace worn by the woman were thrown into his bag as per Bhanda Baba’s instructions. Then she closed her eyes and told her to go some distance. Sunita closed her eyes and went ahead and waited for some time. As no one said anything, after a while she opened her eyes and saw that 2 Bhandababa had already escaped from there. Finally, she filed a written complaint at the police station. After the complaint, the police registered a case and started investigating the incident.
