Sambalpur: Fake SDA Plan Approval Blunder: 5 arrested including 2 SDA employees
Sambalpur: In the Sambalpur Bareipali SBI branch, 2 people applied for loan after giving fake building plan approval of SDA. After the fake permits came to light, SDA planning member Bandita Mohapatra filed a written complaint against Harikesh Bahadur Singh and Savita Baghar at Khetrajpur police station which has now boomeranged for SDA.
In this case, the police arrested 5 people including 2 employees of SDA. Along with this, the police have busted a transaction worth 3 crore 32 lakh rupees. The main accused arrested is Laxminarayan Samal alias Bulu (32) of Old SBI Park Line, Burla. Bulu works as a clerk in SDA. Along with Bulu, the police have arrested Ajay Behera (47) of Kaishir, Ainthapali, Vikas Jagat (36) of Mahanadi Vihar, Dambrudhar Tripathi (40) of Kuluthkani and Sudshanshu Pati (59) of Jharduapada.
22 stamps, 5 mobile phones, 1 desktop, 1 laptop, 22 files and papers, 2 cars, and a bike have been seized from them by the police, said Sambalpur SP Mukesh Bhamu in a press conference held on Tuesday. It is also said that the main accused Bulu is constructing a building in Burla with the money of the said embezzlement. The SP said that this fraud gang has trapped more than 54 people so far.
According to the information, people have to give plan approval to the bank while applying for a home loan. People used to go to the SDA office for these permits, where Bulu used to grab them. No one suspected him as the artwork was going on in the SDA office. Bulu conducted the transaction through fake stamps and signatures. SDA Steno Sudshanshu Pati was also involved in this. His associates were involved in counterfeiting and money laundering. Kuluthkani’s worshiper Dambarudha Tripathi is the most popular. The gang used to charge Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh from people for permission. SP informed that more than 21 lakh rupees were taken from one person. The police have frozen three bank accounts involved in money transactions. 4 lakhs, 53 lakhs, and 1.21 crores in them.
