Sambalpur: Fire broke out during the refueling of the cylinder, delivery boy’s life was lost
Sambalpur: A fire broke out at the Maa Durga Go gas office in Kaishir in the city. The deceased was identified as Sushant Ranjit, 27, of Khandual in Dhanupali police station. The fire broke out around 7 a.m. Tuesday. Sushant was alone there at the time. The fire was so fierce that he could not get out of the house. Immediately some people nearby arrived and tried to rescue. But the fire was so intense that no one was able to enter. Firefighters arrived at the scene shortly. From there, Sushant was rushed to the Sambalpur District General Hospital. There the doctor pronounced him dead.
According to reports, Sushant had been working as a driver and delivery boy at the warehouse. He and one of his associates went to the office around 8 a.m. Tuesday. After a while, the two returned to the office with a tiffin in a shop. Sushant’s accomplice went outside to defecate while sweeping. When he returned, he found that the office was on fire and people were putting out the fire. He was later taken to hospital where he was declared dead.
Sushant was the sole breadwinner of the family
Sushant’s family said he had two brothers and a sister, including his parents. One of the two brothers has polio. The whole family depends on Sushant’s livelihood After Sushant’s death, his family is now in the dark. Sushant’s friends and neighbors have demanded that the district administration and the agency provide financial assistance to his family.
