Sambalpur: Fire Broke out two times in Laxmi Dunguri Hills, Burla
Burla: There have been two times fire broke out in Laxmi Dunguri Hills in one day. First, the fire broke out in the area near Biharipada, the Hirakud side of the Laxmi Dunguri hills and again there was a fire broke out on the side of the highway in evening.
At around 11:00 morning, someone called the fire brigade to report that there was a fire broke out in the hills of Laxmi Dunguri. On receiving the news, Burla Fire Department and Sambalpur Forest Department reached the spot. The forces and forest department personnel were able to blown the fire after a long 4 hours. At 6:00 p.m., the fire brigade received information about the fire on the side of the highway. Once again, with the joint efforts of the fire department and the forest department, they were able to control the fire after about one and a half hours.
As the Laxmi Dunguri mainly live in the central part of Burla and Sambalpur city, the fire affected parts of both Burla and Sambalpur city. Valuable trees are also burnt by clinging to hills. The Forest Department has been demanding to be cautious in order to take drastic measures in this direction.
