Sambalpur: Food safety department raided at Burla

In Sambalpur district, Burla and Hirakud towns were raided by the Department of Food Security and the Department of Excise. A total of Rs 12,600 was recovered from 70 shopkeepers for allegedly selling drugs in public. Similarly, Rs 2,000 was also recovered from two shopkeepers selling stale food. In addition, 5 kilograms of sweets and 10 kilograms of leftover and chemically colored food items were destroyed. A total of Rs 14,600 has been collected.

The raid was attended by District NTCP Advisor Swagatika Behera, Food Security Officers Sebastin Horo and Anju Ekka, Excise Department Fakir Dehuri, Burla ASI Kebi Bagh and Hirakud ASI Bishakha Nayak, LK Rath.
