Sambalpur: Forcible Eviction in Thakurpada

Sambalpur: Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation (SMC) has declared eviction in the Thakurpada area. Between Behramunda Street and Thakurpada, the encroached houses on both sides of the road were demolished by JCBs installed by SMC. It started at 7.30 am on Wednesday morning and lasted till 3.00 pm. Around 50 houses were destroyed on both sides of the road. The police were also present at the scene of the incident, keeping the law and order in mind. Houses were destroyed and both sides of the road were flattened. The administration has said that the eviction will continue under the supervision of SMC officials.
