Sambalpur: Another identity of West Odisha is Gangadhar Meher University (GMU). On the occasion of inaugurating the administrative building of GMU, Higher Education Minister Eng. Rohit Pujari called GMU the identity of Western Odisha. Along with this, he suggest to prepare a road map on how GMU can become No. 1 in the country. The grand administrative building of GMU was inaugurated on Thursday.
While Rohit Pujari attended as the chief guest, GMU Vice-Chancellor Prof. N. Nagaraju, GMU Ex-Chancellor Prof. Atnu Pati, Burla Visut Vice-Chancellor Prof. Bansidhar Majhi, Odisha State Open University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A.K. Dasmahapatra PG Council Chairman Mohim Muhammad was the chief attendee. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Professor N Nagaraju, Deputy Chancellor Dr. Umacharan Pati coordinated.
Rohit Pujari said that the development of Western Odisha is not possible without the development of GMU. He advised the students that he who goes forward along with everyone will be successful. Being a good person is the most important thing. On this occasion, many old students, professors and lecturers were present. In the end, Chancellor Jogaleshwari Das thanked everyone.
After the recognition of the university, the old buildings in the Amrit Vihar campus were replaced for academic and all administrative functions. Later this state-of-the-art administrative building was designed. It took about 3 years to complete this three-storied building at a cost of 10 crores 78 lakhs from the Fund.
