Sambalpur: Government Rental Building Issue, who is taking and eating the rent ?
Sambalpur: The government quarters are in the possession of the outside people. However, the department head is unknown about this. While private people have been living in government buildings for years, now there are serious allegations that “rental business” is going on there.
Around 120 government officials, staff and workers lived in the government breeding farm near Chipilima Goshala of the State Livestock Breeding Firm. Now 12 and about 25 workers are living there along with officers and employees. Other houses are occupied by forcible people. Many people from outside the area are also staying there and doing various businesses in the local area.
On the other hand, there is no housing for the workers in this huge farm. Some of them are coming from Sambalpur and some from Bargarh, but they are taking house rent from the government. It has been alleged that extortionate rent is being charged from the people under occupation. There have also been allegations that some employees and retired employees have rented houses. However, who is taking and eating this rent is now under investigation. The post has been lying vacant for a long time and is being held by the incumbent Joint Director, Sambalpur CDVO. When asked about this, Dr. Dinabandhu Mishra, the joint director in charge, said, “He is not aware of this, since the complaint has been received, it will be investigated and necessary action will be taken.” “Of course, some outside people have requested for housing, but they have always been refused,” says Dr. Mishra.
