Sambalpur: Governor of Odisha Raghubar Das Visit to Sambalpur, ‘Together Building a Developed India’

Sambalpur: Our country is celebrating its 75th anniversary today. In the next few years we will celebrate the centenary ceremony. In the mean time, we have to take the initiative to build a developed India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts have continued for the last 9 and a half years. The state governments are also making efforts at their own level. The central and state governments have to work together to build a developed India by 2047, Governor Raghubar Das said on his visit to Sambalpur district today. In a meeting held with farmers and SHG women in Maneswar Block Parmanpur, he said that 49 percent of students in Odisha are students. Women have taken the initiative to form SHGs to think about how to educate girls who are dropping out of school more than half. The big plan for the farmers at the government level is the small plan at the village and retreat level. Even if there is nothing to be done at the village and retreat level, the villagers can discuss and get rid of drugs. The governor said that even with the rape law, brides are being burnt alive, so efforts are needed from all levels for a developed India.

On this occasion, the farmers presented their problems before the governor. Kailas Chandrashekhar said that Sambalpur district is the 4th district of Odisha in agriculture. But there is no good use here. Paddy production has been going on for the last 4 years from the state level. No DLPC meeting. The millers are doing what they want, cutting 5.10 kg per quintal. After reaching Sambalpur this morning, the Governor first visited the Urban Health Center at Dhankuada, from where he went to Maneshwar Block Tabla Village and visited the Anganwadi Centre. Later, he visited Parmanpur after talking with the farmers and women of the SHG Group, he visited Parmanpur Model School and interacted with the students. Finally visited Kudopali and met the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme. Additional District Collector Pradeep Sahu and other officials were present on behalf of the administration. Tight security was provided by the police administration. In the afternoon, Governor discussed with the senior officials of the district administration at his residence and advised them to bring the administration closer to the people. He will spend the night there and leave for Bargarh tomorrow morning.

Regarding the empowerment of women, the governor said that since ancient times, women intellectuals played a significant role in Chandra Abhiyan. Women across the country have become self-reliant through self-help groups. The Prime Minister also gave importance to this and said that women can take up to 10 lakh loans and now increase it to 20 lakh loans.

The Governor said to the farmers that we have to stop chemical farming, because of this, diseases like diabetes and cancer are increasing, and he asked the farmers to use biological methods of farming. He also said that he will take steps to solve all the problems raised by the farmers in the process of buying grain. He said that the attention of both the state and the center will be drawn.
