Sambalpur: A delegation that presented a proposal before the Delhi Assembly demanding the inclusion of Hirakhand State and Sambalpuri language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution returned to Sambalpur on Thursday.
Grand Welcome at Sambalpur station
After arriving at Sambalpur railway station by Jammu Express, the group was given a warm welcome. Eminent persons like Padma Shri Jitendra Haripal and members of more than 30 organizations including the Sambalpur Citizen Action Committee were present at the procession and welcomed the returning fighters from Delhi. The delegation that has returned from Delhi includes hundreds of organizations such as Sambalpuri Language Culture Council, Hirakhand Front, Western Unity Forum etc. Members of the delegation were on their way to the capital Delhi on the 3rd Dec. During their journey, they were beaten up by Kosala supporters. A controversial situation arose.
On the last 6th, hundreds of people of Western Odisha living in Delhi along with the agitators who left here came up with the idea of a Hirakhand state and inclusion of Sambalpuri language in the constitution. There, colorful Sambalpuri costumes, dance songs, poetry recitations etc. were very interesting.
