Sambalpur: Group Clash Incident in Talbhatapada due to love; Gundaraj of the police, breaks into the house and beats the woman!
Sambalpur: On Tuesday, stone pelting started between two groups over love in Khetrajpur police station Talbhatapada. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and picked up more than 10 people from the 2 groups. Many people’s mobile phones were also seized. In all this, there are serious allegations that the police broke into the house and beat up the women. While very few women police officers were present, many male policemen beat girls and women. The residents have complained that the disabled minors were also beaten up by the police.
Resident Pooja Gopal underwent brain surgery at the age of 16. She can neither hear nor speak. His father has alleged that the police officer broke into the house and beat her up. He also accused the police officer of beating him for asking why he was being beaten. Similarly, Sudesta Mahananda has been accused police of beating her stomach as she recently had a cesarean delivery. Padmini Chhatrapal said, the police forcefully entered the house in the middle of the night and broke the door. They didn’t even leave our daughters, they beat us without understanding anything while we were eating, and they threw plates and beat us. Women were also chased away by male policemen.
On Wednesday, the residents reached the Sambalpur SP’s office to file a complaint against the police. While SP Mukesh Bhamu was not in the office, 2 additional SPs, Sadar SDPO, and multiple victims were consulted. The residents were asked to go to the Khetrajpur police station. The police officers told the residents that they would go to the pada and investigate. However, on Monday night, women protested in front of the SP’s office over the police brutality.
According to the Information, a young woman from Pada was spotted by her brother while talking to her boyfriend on Monday. He then beat up his younger sister and her boyfriend. On Monday evening, the boyfriend told his maternal uncle about the incident. Then the lover’s uncle threatened to molest the young girl’s family and neighbors. On Tuesday evening, a fight between 10-10 youths from both sides over that incident turned into a gang fight at 9:30 p.m. After receiving information that stone pelting had started between the two groups, the police reached the spot and thrashed them. However, SP Shri Bhamu said that an investigation will be conducted from all angles regarding the incident of the police raiding the house and attacking the woman.
