Sambalpur: Hanuman Jayanti Violence: 3 MPs have given Violation Notice against District Collector and SP
Sambalpur: Three Lok Sabha MPs have issued a breach of privilege notice against the Sambalpur District Collector and the SP. Two breach of privilege notices have been given to the BJP delegation coming from Jharsuguda on April 18 to study the situation in Sambalpur, not allowing them to enter the Sambalpur district border and detaining them for the whole day at Thelkoloi police station. Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari, Kalahandi MP Basant Panda and Sundargarh MP Jual Oram jointly gave one notice of violation of privilege while the other was given by MP Suresh Pujari alone. The MPs have detailed the events of that day and written to the Speaker alleging that his privilege was violated.
MP Mr. Pujari stated that he was illegally ‘housed’ in his Sambalpur Sakhipada residence from 18th morning. He was not allowed to leave the house. The house was surrounded by police personnel. He with Jharsuguda Union Minister Vishweshwar Tudu along with BJP state president Manmohan Samal for illegally detaining them in the police station till late evening when they were coming to meet Hanuman Jayanti Samanyoyo Samiti Executive President Damodar Kar, who is being treated at the hospital for serious injuries, and hold talks with the ARDC. They were coming at the time when the curfew was announced.
