Sambalpur High Court bench Movement, Bail application of 38 persons dismissed
Samalpur: During the high court bench movement in Sambalpur, the bail application of 29 lawyers who were arrested in the case of vandalism in the district court on 12th Dec Satyagraha has been denied in the district court today. Along with them, the court rejected the bail application of 8 transgender and a civilian. Earlier, their bail application was rejected by the SDJ M court. With this, the hope of their early release from jail has been dashed. After that, the High Court is the next hope. It is to be revealed that all these agitators were arrested in the 12th dec riot incident and are now captured in Mandal Prison. The hearing of the bail application was held today in the Vigilance Court on the premises of the District Court. After hearing the arguments of both sides, Assistant Judge Debashish Raut rejected the bail application of 38 arrested agitators. It has been informed that these agitators will now go to the High Court for bail application. 5 cases have been registered in their name in the town police station.
It is worth noting that there was a dispute between the lawyers and the police on the demand of establishing a High Court bench in Sambalpur on 30th Nov and on the 12th of Dec, both sides faced each other again. Despite the imposition of Section 144 in the Sambalpur court premises, the agitators enter court and destroyed it. They dragged the judge out of the court after abusing the judge. Advocate General’s statue burned. In this incident, 5 cases have been registered in the town police station. Later, the police added the names of some of the agitators in some old cases. Out of the above 5 cases, lawyers Ravindra Panda and Sharat Chandra Panigrahi of Barpali Bar Association applied for bail in 2 cases and lawyers Yadumani Pruseth and Ranjan Kumar Sharma of Kuchinda Bar Association applied for bail for all 43 people in the other 3 cases. Against this, public prosecutor Diptaranjan Sandha presented arguments.
