Sambalpur: Hindalco’s Healthcare Services brings benefits to the General Public
Sambalpur: Aditya Birla Group company Hindalco has taken up various healthcare initiatives to ensure a better and more meaningful life for the local people in Sambalpur, Odisha. Last year, about 14,000 people from 5 wards of Hirakud took advantage of the healthcare facility. Hindalco through its Mobile Healthcare Units (MHUs) provides primary healthcare facilities to the public at their doorsteps. MHUs are especially useful for the elderly, women, and children who are unable to access healthcare facilities in remote areas.
Disclosing this, Kailas Pandey, Cluster Head, Hindalco said, “Under its program (Mobile Health Care Unit), the company operates a mobile health care unit that visits the surrounding villages at specific times of the day. Under this program, Hirakud and its surrounding areas are collectively being covered by this healthcare delivery system at 10 strategic locations. The healthcare efforts are being managed under the supervision of our Chief Resource Officer Mr. Krishna Padhi. We look forward to expanding this service to benefit a maximum number of people in Hirakud and surrounding areas.”
Also, Hindalco has touched the lives of 1838 people by organizing special mega health camps. More than 1000 people have taken advantage of its OPD services at CHC-Hirakud. CHC-Hirakud provides specialized medical services to the patients, where specialist doctors in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Paediatrics are providing better medical facilities to the public. Again as a complement to this, large special health camps are being organized on a quarterly basis where an average record number of over 1000 patients are being treated.
In addition, a homeopathy center is providing health care facilities in Dengimacha village where last year around 850 patients took advantage of the medical services. In addition, around 500 awareness camps and important Health Day celebrations were organized to create awareness among the public to take advantage of better healthcare facilities.
“All these camps have benefited the villagers immensely. Hindalco’s efforts in organizing such camps are commendable. For this, I appreciate the efforts of the company management and request them to speed it up in the future,” said Mr. Vibhuti Bhushan Naik, Sub-Collector, Kuchinda.
