Sambalpur: Inauguration of Budharaja Watch Tower is not Done but the attached glass is Broken
Sambalpur: The outer gate is locked. Although the construction was completed, it could not be inaugurated but the attached glass was destroyed. The condition of Budharaja Watch Tower, which was built at a cost of one crore rupees, has become very bad. In 2016, an amount of Rs 1 crore was approved by the state tourism department for the beautification of Budharaja Hills. The construction period of which was only 18 months. Even after more than 7 years, the work could not be completed.
It is alleged that this situation is due to the inefficiency of the tourism department. An officer was assigned to the Sambalpur Tourism Department for a long time. Even after he retired, he was not released from this responsibility. He still works as the head of the tourism department but has no financial powers. Another departmental employee said that all the problems are arising for this reason.
- Incompetent officials of the Tourism Department
- We are not handed over the responsibility, what do we do
- It has been under construction for 7 years, when will it be handed over?
Mukesh Jariwal of Marwaripada said, “In the name of tourism development, the officials are destroying. Tourists are planning to come only in pen and paper. But the reality is completely different. The construction of the watch tower on the Budharaja hills was started at a cost of 1 crore rupees so that people could enjoy the pleasant view of the city from the top of the watch tower. But this hope has not been fulfilled so far. He also questioned about the breaking of the attached glass.
Meanwhile, people have blamed the administration for the incident of the Budharaja watch tower being locked. It is said to be the inefficiency of the district tourism department for not being able to construct a work even after such a long time. Hundreds of college students and tourists come here daily. Taking a selfie and seeing the city from the top of the watch tower is very interesting. But the administration is not paying attention to it. Tourists are turning away and there is a loss of revenue. District Tourism Officer said, we are not given the handed over responsibility, so what will we do?
