Many food stalls on the roadsides of Sambalpur city cause heavy traffic congestion. People also find it difficult to eat peacefully. To address this problem, SMC has come up with a new plan. Like metro cities such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Rourkela, Sambalpur will have its own ‘Khao Gali.’ Street food stalls will be given space, and there will be arrangements for customers to eat. The SMC Commissioner mentioned that for the convenience of the public, they are going to open ‘Khao Gali’ in the city. Four to five locations have been selected for this purpose. Everything is in the initial stages. After discussions with local residents and the district administration, these will be established. Consequently, people will no longer have to wander around to eat; all kinds of food stalls will be available in one place, reducing congestion on the city roads.
There has been a long-standing demand for a ‘Khao Gali’ in Sambalpur. From Ainthapali to Fatak, Mudipada to Khetrajpur Station, Baidyanath Chhak to Lady Lewis Chowk, and near Golbazar Chowk, there are fast food centers, gupchup, and chat stalls along the roadside. These areas remain crowded, causing traffic jams. Thus, people have been demanding a ‘Khao Gali,’ which SMC has taken seriously. The city is now moving forward to establish a ‘Khao Gali’. People have welcomed it.
