Sambalpur: IT Raid continues at Baldev Sahu & Sons, The Alcohol Trade has been going on for three decades
Sambalpur: The raid by the income tax department at Baldev Sahu & Sons office in Sambalpur and wine shops continues for the third day. The seized money is also being counted at the State Bank headquarters and in all this, the inner workings of the liquor business are coming to light. In Sambalpur, the Baldev Sahu & Sons business has not only been going on for a year or two but for nearly three decades. Billions of rupees have been evaded in taxes and the excise department has been renewing the license every year by checking the general papers.
According to the information received from the sources of the excise department, there are 4 local wine shops of Baldev Sahu & Sons in Sambalpur, whose license they took in 1994-95, and the License is renewed every year. According to the information obtained from another source, about 30 wine shops in the district are also occupied by them. All the shop owners and employees are from parts of Bihar and Jharkhand, so Baldev Sahu & Sons is believed to have evaded crores of rupees in taxes from the liquor trade for decades.

Baldev Sahu & Sons has tax evasion of crores of rupees. Not only this, various commercial establishments are also rumored to be involved in handling the illegal liquor business. Even in the transactions they are doing in different districts, they have been running all illegal transactions by keeping the police in their hands. In Sambalpur district too, it seems that the business is running accordingly. It is alleged that the excise department has dealt with huge sums of money every year during the renewal of the license and kept silent despite the submission of the papers, the benefit of which was taken by the liquor owner to run this business smoothly.
Therefore, there is a rumor that Baldev Sahu & Son’s other business establishments can also earn income. It is worth noting that the raid that has been going on since last Wednesday has not ended. It is said that the department may move to a new place. Today, the crores of seized rupees are being counted at the State Bank headquarters in the presence of 4 officers of the Income Tax Department and the staff of Baldev Sahu & Sons. By evening, more than 15 crore rupees have been counted. On the third day today, the IT team is said to have seized some important papers from the head office of Badabazar. Similarly, the IT Team continues to raid in wine shop of Mahabir Pada.
