Sambalpur: Kuchinda Sub Divisional Hospital, What is the use of free service?
Kuchinda: Many poor people rely on Kuchinda Sub Divisional Hospital in Sambalpur district for medical services, but there have been allegations that they are being deprived of free services. The hospital has facilities for free various test services for the patients coming for treatment.
The government has a system to provide free medicines to the patients. However, it is a matter of regret that the doctors of the hospital are accused of sending the patients outside the hospital for sample testing as well as asking them to buy medicine from outside medicine shops.
After receiving the complaint, Kuchinda SDMO Dr. Subodh Nayak was informed and requested for investigation. SDMO Dr. Nayak investigated and revealed the truth of the incident. It is worth noting that even if the lab in the hospital opens at 8 am, the report of the sample is given after 2 pm. The normal outdoor lab closes after 12 pm.
Sundargarh Block, Deogarh Leimura, Jharsugudar Rengali, and Kolabira people have difficulty returning home. After the outdoor closure, the doctor who saw the patient was not in the hospital. By doing this, doctors are sending patient samples outside for testing.
After the introduction of the ‘5T Hospital’ program, there is a government directive to provide all medicines free of charge, but patients’ relatives have complained that doctors are prescribing medicines for thousands of rupees.
Kuchinda Block Kusmi Jamankira Panchayat, an old man has been accused of having a doctor pay more than 1000 rupees for a medical examination and buying medicines worth 1400 rupees from a private shop.
SDMO, sub-district administration, and patient welfare society have been demanded to look into it. There is a demand to see that the patients get proper treatment.
