Sambalpur: Lakhs of rupees fraud in the name of fast tag

Another young man from Sambalpur has been the victim of cyber fraud. Lakhs of rupees from his account has been debited in the name of fast tag. A call came from an unknown number on Wednesday to Laxmidhar Mahanta (34), of Ainthapali Srirambihar. Cyber fraudster told he was call from Fast Tag Helpline. The fraudster asked for a recharge, saying the balance on the fast tag account had expired.Then he fell into a trance and did as he was told. After sharing a message he received with the fraudster, Rs 99,999 deducted from his account. He appealed to the bank to block the account. Police filed a case and launched an investigation into the incident after he lodged a written complaint with the Ainthapali police station on Thursday.
