An accused is facing charges of failing to pay money to a court after cheating an old man of Jagannath Colony, Ainthapali police station, Sambalpur. According to information received, Ram Jaman Singh (77) of Jagannath Colony had a land area of 0.2100 acres in Gunderpur mouza of Maneshwar tehsil. A man from sahjog nagar with the brokers repeatedly asked Rama to sell the land. After repeated requests, the old man agreed to sell the land for Rs 9,24,000.
On September 6, 2019, the defendant went to the old man’s home with a land broker and asked him to sign a saledeed. The accused said he would pay the cheque to the sub-registrar’s office for money. The old man nodded, relying on the defendant’s words. The Aithapali police have been directed to investigate the case as the accused sold the land to the woman after the old man was cheated.
