Sambalpur: Lawyer Suraj Biswal dies in the car crash with bike on the New Flyover
Sambalpur: Reckless driving claimed another precious life in Sambalpur. Young lawyer Suraj Biswal dies in a car crash on the New Flyover. According to police information, when Suraj Biswal was riding his bike from the side of Kacheri Street, a speeding car (OD 31 D4336) hit him from the front. The accident was so severe that a part of his hand was torn off.
On receiving the information, the town police reached the spot and rescued Suraj, and immediately took him to the main hospital of Sambalpur district. However, the doctor declared him dead there. The police have registered a case and started investigating the incident. The police have seized the car and the bike that caused the accident. The police said that the driver of the car returned safely.
Suraj was a good organizer in his student life. While studying at Gangadhar Meher College, he was elected as the President of the Student Union. Suraj, who started his political career in Congress, joined the BJD and held the position of District General Secretary. He actively participated in the High Court Permanent Bench movement in Western Odisha. He was involved in various movements for the development of Sambalpur. At the end of this month, Sambalpur Bar Association elections are being held. Today, he submitted his nomination papers for the post of general secretary. In the evening, he met the former MLA Rasheshwari Panigarahi and discussed various issues for a long time.
After the news of Suraj’s accident, senior lawyers Pradeep Bohidar, Basant Mishra, Saroj Sahu, and Rangeya Shadangi along with many lawyers reached the hospital and paid their last respects. On his death, the ex-District Secretary Raseshwari Panigarahi, BJD district vice-president Sumantra Panda, Mahanagar BJD president Satish Bishi, former president of District Bar Association Dr. Pramod Rath expressed deep grief.
