- Administration is Silent
Due to various development works like sewage works, Samlei Yojana, road widening, etc. in almost all areas of Sambalpur city, the roads are being dug in a haphazard manner and without any coordination by different departments, starting from the main road of the city and digging the adjacent roads. Next time it is left without proper maintenance. As no action is being taken with the statutory scheme, there is dissatisfaction among the people, due to the poor condition of the roads, minor accidents occur and senior citizens find it difficult to travel by bike. Circular patching is done only during festivals and any other occasion to fool people. Fly ash is being used during the construction of some roads along with sparge works. Due to this, heavy dust and ash are flying causing problems in traffic and also polluting the environment. Odisha Cultural Society has issued a demand letter to the District Collector to address this situation in Sambalpur city. Under the leadership of President Ashok Kumar Mishra, a group of members of the cultural society, including Vice President Shivnarayan Panigarahi, went to the DM office and filed a petition there.
