Sambalpur: Major Liquor Seizure in Bareipali; Two Arrested

Sambalpur: On Sunday, police in Bareipali seized a total of 1059 foreign liquor bottles. Following this, a separate operation on Monday resulted in the recovery of 235.5 liters (about 500 bottles) of foreign liquor from auto during a routine police check in the Bareipali area.

The police arrested two individuals, Dilip Gupta (51) and Arvind Rai (24), who were transporting the liquor from Bareipali to Bargarh using an auto. Dilip Gupta, identified as an employee at a liquor counter, was among the arrested.

The authorities responded quickly, apprehending the suspects and impounding both the seized liquor and the auto. The operation reflects continuous attempts to reduce illegal liquor transportation in the region.
