Sambalpur: Malibagicha Park near Balibandha Street has now become a contractor’s stockyard. Some construction materials are filled with tractors, iron bars, centering plates, and other construction materials. The entire park has been cordoned off. The contractor did not listen even when the local people asked to remove the goods from there. Rather, they are bringing in more goods. It has been demanded to immediately pick up the goods and remove the seizure.

Many players practice kabaddi regularly at this Malibaghi Park under Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation. The boys are trained here under the guidance of a coach. Many players have been trained in the team. Therefore, this park has a special identity for Kabaddi. In addition, dignitaries used to come here to exercise. All facilities are provided by SMC to practice. A few days ago, a contractor made this park his own stockyard. A lot of construction materials are dumped there. Even so, a tractor is parked there. As a result, people no longer exercise there. So it is demanded to remove all the materials from here. The Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation has been informed in writing. However, the people expressed their displeasure as action was not taken.
