Sambalpur: Manoj Mishra seeks Govt’s Intervention, Koshal Sena burns effigy of Anubhav, Arindam, Jeetu Mangaraj
Sambalpur: Controversy is brewing over actor Manoj Mishra’s Ban incident. Today, Manoj sought the intervention of the state government to fix the cinema distribution system. In addition, he said, ‘I don’t have a conflict in my mind or my feeling that we will sit down and solve it. We need to address the root problem first. As a self-respecting Odisha citizen, if I want the whole of India to know about our Odisha art, literature, and God, am I wrong in thinking this? When I started saying all this, some people started opposing me. Defamed. Now Ban also did it. No problem.
- People tore down posters and banners
- Paschim Odisha Producers’ Association (POPA) stood up for Manoj.
On the other hand, Rengali MLA Nauri Naik raised questions about the silence of Odisha Film Development Corporation Chairman Kuna Tripathi. He demanded that the government should withdraw Ban from Manoj, provide security to him, and improve the delivery system. Similarly, the incident of ban Manoj in Jharsuguda was strongly condemned by the Kosala Sena and Western Ekta Manch, and effigies of actors Anubhav Mohanty, Arindam Roy, and Jitu Mangaraj were burnt. People are seen tearing posters and banners of various films in Jharsuguda city.
In the Lathor district of Balangir, the effigy of MP Anubhav Mohanty was burnt under the leadership of Koshal state leader Kashinath Meher. The Paschim Odisha Producers’ Association (POPA) strongly condemned the incident of Ban Manoj and this decision has been protested.
