Sambalpur: Many big projects are falling apart like the new bus terminal, town hall, and Adarsh Vidyalaya which cost crores of rupees cannot be completed
Sambalpur: In district Redhakhol, many big projects are falling apart like a new bus terminal, Jajbar, town hall, and Adarsh school, which cost crores of rupees cannot be completed. There has been a strong reaction among the residents of the area. According to the information, the work of the bus terminal was started less than 6 years ago. NAC does not expect to finish this project, which is going on at a cost of 96 lakh rupees. If it works for months, it is closed for 6 months. It doesn’t look likely to happen in the near future either. On the other hand, travelers are facing non-existent hardships due to the lack of even the slightest facilities in the old accommodation. In the same way, the condition of “Jajabar” project is the same. This project has been completed for three years, but it is not operational till today. On the other hand, due to lack of maintenance, the houses are lying in derelict condition and have become slums of disadvantaged people.
Similarly, before the 2019 general election, MLA Rohit Pujari laid the foundation stone for the construction of the adarsh vidyalaya building, but the construction work has not been completed to date. Currently, this school is running in Sundhimunda Girls School. Therefore, the students are deprived of the opportunities that they would have had in ideal schools. As the construction of the adarsh vidyalaya building under the responsibility of the entire department is going on at a very slow pace, the intellectuals are questioning how many more years the work will take.
Similarly, another big project was the town hall, when Prasandha Acharya was the finance minister, the construction of the town hall was started in 2012-13 at a cost of one crore rupees. Even after 10 years, its construction work has not been completed. Sectional discussions are underway. Due to the irresponsibility of the district administration officials, the demand to take steps in this direction is that these projects cannot be completed.
