Sambalpur: Mega Blood Donation Camp Organized at G.M. University, Record of 226 blood Donors
Sambalpur: With the arrival of summer, the blood deficit has started in the blood bank of the city. Burla Vimsar and Sambalpur district headquarter hospital blood banks are not spared from this crisis. When the patients and their families are facing severe problems due to blood loss, the students of Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur have donated blood in large numbers to alleviate this shortage to some extent.
A record 226 students, lecturers, faculty and staff have donated blood in the Mega Blood Donation Camp at Amrut Vihar, G.M University. The Camp was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr. Uma Charan Pati . Students participated in the camp with great enthusiasm. They thronged to donate blood from 9:30 am to 2:00 am and there was a queue for registration. University NSS Officer Dr. Pradosh Acharya, Dr. Ranjan Sethi, Dr. Sal Besra, Dr. Neena Das, Dr. Gyanranjan Swain, Dr. Debasis Behera, Lingraj Behera, Nilamadhav, principal faculty and staff played a major role in organizing and conducting the camp.
Both Vimsar and Sambalpur Blood Bank participated in the camp and collected 126 and 100 units of blood respectively.
