Sambalpur: Minor Rape Case, 20 years imprisonment to the culprit
Sambalpur: Prashant Bagh has been accused of molesting a minor in the Sambalpur Dhama police station area. Special POCSO judge Abhilash Senapati heard the case on Wednesday and sentenced the accused to 20 years imprisonment and 1 lakh rupees fine, which he ordered to be jailed for 6 more months in default of payment.
It is to be noted that the accused was following the girl while she was going to school. He was harassing. One day Prashant took the girl to his house and committed mischief. After that, he threatened the minors and repeatedly abused them. One day Prashant called and threatened the minor and saw the minor’s grandfather while the minor told him everything. After the minor’s father filed a written complaint at the Dhama police station on May 10, 2020, the police registered a case and investigated the incident. Later, the police arrested the accused and took him to court. Statements of 13 witnesses were recorded and Prashant was accused on Wednesday. The case was handled by public prosecutor Satya Panda.
