Sambalpur: Mistreatment and misbehave to female officer in Burla Police Station
Sambalpur: Police station once again in disarray. That again is in the sensitive Burla police station. Female Police officer have been complaint of misconduct behaviour in Burla police station. This allegations were made against a police constable. After the incident, the constable was quickly transferred and the police department is said to have closed the case. Where female police are insecure, the situation of ordinary women is now in question. Police Officer Kamal Kumar Panda have been questioned about the incident, he acknowledged the allegations. Constables have been repeatedly accused of such acts so he replied that he had been transferred.
According to reliable sources, a female police officer from Sambalpur went to work in Burla police station last week. At this point, a constable working there mistreated the female officer and abused her. The female officer complained to the Burla police station. The incident lasted for about two days and then the the constable was eventually transferred from Burla police station after the situation deteriorated.
The number of crimes against women in Sambalpur district is on the rise. Cases of sexual harassment and abuse of women have been reported in one or more police stations in the district on a daily basis.
Although such allegations against the police in Sambalpur district are not new, it is rare for female police officers to be subjected to such harassment by their departmental staff. Notably, last year a home guard was arrested in the Kuchinda police station district of the district in connection with the rape case and went to jail.
