Sambalpur: MockDrill to deal with disaster

Sambalpur: With the onset of monsoon rains, there is a risk of catastrophic floods. The district administration is preparing to deal with the disaster. A special MockDrill was held at the multi-purpose flood shelter in Mandalia on Sunday. Local volunteers and administrative officials, including the Sambalpur fire brigade, were present at the mall. Preparations have been made by the district administration as there is a risk of artificial flooding during the monsoon season. Volunteers were warned. At present, almost all shelters in the district, starting with Aska lights, have cutters, generators, lights, etc., said Additional Fire Officer Jitendra Bishwal. McDrill was asked how volunteers can help during the floods. The mall is being set up with the aim of zero casualties, said Drs. Malay Kumar Pradhan said.
