Sambalpur: Mother ran away, father is no more, Who will understand the grief of orphan siblings?

The brothers and sisters are living in helpless condition in near Sudanga Rangiatikra mundapada under Sambalpur Metropolitan Corporation. Now they have no one to claim as their own. Since there is no other option, they have been forced to take shelter with a neighboring couple for the last 2 months.

Vijay Munda, a resident of Sudanga Mundapada near Maneswar under Ward No. 40 of SMC passed away on last 24th August. After the death of Vijay, his son and daughter Seema Munda (13) and Sameer (10) have become orphan and alone.

A few years ago, Vijay’s wife fled away. After his wife left the home, Vijay was taking care of his two children. He was shouldering the responsibility of both his parents alone. However, after Vijay’s untimely departure, his two children are now living in destitution. A sympathetic neighbor Balaram Munda and Pramila Munda have now sheltered them. eema is currently studying in the eighth standard in the village school while Sameer is studying in the fifth standard.

Labour Balaram has to take care of Seema and Sameer along with his kids and wife. Balaram is also raising them as his own children even though he is living in poverty. However, if the administration could make some provision for these two helpless children, then they can study well and build their future Balaram said.

BJD leader Prafulla Das, Hardeep Singh Bhuji, Vice President of Biju Memorial Committee Satyendra Das, Editor of Biju Memorial Committee Dulal Chandra Rai and former Sarpanch Artha Bagh met this helpless children today. They promised to help as much as possible by providing some fruits, biscuits and school equipment. In fact, accommodation, food and education could be arranged for these two tribal brothers and sisters so that they too can do something in the future.
