Sambalpur: A woman has become helpless in an unknown city after her husband went away leaving his wife and 7-month-old baby girl alone. Even though more than 15 days have passed since she was reported to the police station, the police have neither found her husband nor taken any action. Namita Behera (34) is living alone in a rented house with her daughter. It is worth noting that Ghanshyam Behera was introduced while Namita was working in Bhubaneswar. From there, love happened and later both got married in court. After marriage, he came and stayed in a rented house in Govindtola, Sambalpur. They also have a daughter.

Namita has alleged that her husband is regularly physically and mentally abusing her by demanding dowry while staying here. On the 22nd of last month, Ghanshyam suddenly fled away with all the gold ornaments and marriage certificate of Namita. After that, she does not pick up the phone, instead, his family members are abusing and threatening Namita on the phone. So Namita filed a complaint against her husband and his family at Dhanupali police station on the 29th. Even though more than 15 days have passed since then, the police have not taken any action. Namita and her 7-month-old baby are spending days in agony and fear, her neighbors have alleged.
