Sambalpur: Today Citizens of Padiabahal area met National Highways Authority Project Director Nageshwar Rao met to aware him of various problems due to the situation on the National Highway 53. The citizens met project director Mr. Rao at his office in Sambalpur and drew attention to various problems before issuing the demand letter.
They demanded that the bus stand construction at various places near the highway, lighting system on the national highway, installation of symbolic and information boards at hospitals, toilets etc. Similarly, laying of pipelines for drinking water supply in the surrounding areas of Padiabahal should be completed as soon as possible. They have released various requirements including implementation of all related procedures at the toll gates.
After discussing all these things, the Project Director Mr. Rao said the work is continuing in all aspects. He has promised that all related systems will be implemented within the next 7 days. It has been proposed to exempt toll tax for all vehicles within a radius of 20 km, including passenger taxis. At present, while a few private vehicles are exempted from tolls, many vehicles are subject to tax, causing dissatisfaction in the state. Apart from this, it was also demanded to make all the gates of the toll plaza operational for 24 hours for traffic control.
Under the leadership of Rajaram Sarangi, Badal Mahapatra, Praveen Supkar, Manoj Subudhi, Pramod Mishra, Pradipta Mishra, copies of which have been given to Jujumura Tehsildar, Sadar Police and Sambalpur Superintendent of Police.
