Sambalpur: No packing or Expiry Date, Sell poison in the name of Bread
Sambalpur: Stale bread inside illegal plastic. The packing is done by melting the plastic in a kerosene flame. There is no packing or expiry date on the food. No FSSAI standards. As soon as the packet is opened, the nose bursts with the stench smell. This bread of a regional company is now found in Sambalpur city. Everything is sold in bulk. However, the food safety department has been accused of being lax.
A man named Raghu from the Bareipali area of Sambalpur bought a bread packet today. He went home and after breaking the packet, it smelled. There was no packing or expiry date on the bread packet. Even so, surprisingly the packing of the packet was done normally. He said that there was a smell of kerosene from the packet of this bread. Not only this one, but many bakery factories built in the city and suburbs are now selling such foods. Due to a lack of regular food safety department inspections, the sale of poisoned food is increasing in the city. It is said that people are being given poison in the name of food.
Similarly, many big hotels in the city also serve stale food. Especially in the Bareipali area, hotels, restaurants, and shops keep food deep-frozen and sell it after one day or two days. It is alleged that some meat is also stale. Stale Chickens are regularly fed in a restaurant in the Ainthapali area which the customer is also protesting. Then the restaurant staff says “sorry” and leaves. People have demanded that the restaurant also needs to be upgraded. Sambalpur Food Safety Officer Anju Ekka said, there have been allegations against this company before. When he came for a food safety license, we asked him to bring all the materials for packing. He has not brought it yet. They are packed by melting the plastic in the fire. We have already warned him. But he did not stop there. So soon we will raid.
