Sambalpur: Nuakhai Celebrated in Western Odisha with great show and pomp
Sambalpur: The great festival of Ganaprab Nuakhai has been raised in Purpalli of Western Odisha. Livelihood Festival, Farming and Farmers Festival Nuakhai. A festival of brotherhood and unity, a festival of culture and self-respect. Nuakhai festival is very unique and special, it has been proved once again in every village and town, in every house and family in the border region of Chhattisgarh including western Odisha. Due to corona, many people outside could not return home when the last 2 years were dull.
After 2 years, however, the situation has eased again. One happiness, one hope in everyone’s mind, today offered the new crops to God. After taking blessings, ate together with the whole family. The whole year ahead will be good. Mother will help us in times of danger.
According to the pre-scheduled launch, on Thursday from 10:56 to 11:00, Tula Lagna Mithun Navashan, Sambalpur’s presiding deity Goddess Samaleswari was worshiped. Before this, the devotees decorated the mother with new clothes and jewellery. In the family of worshipers, with full determination and discipline, Nabanna vog (rice flour), kheeri, pie, saru shag etc. were prepared for the mother. At exactly 10:56 a.m., the temple complex was lit up with musical instruments such as bells, shakhas, nisans, mandals, etc. The ritual was started for the mother.
After serving bhog to Maa Samleshwari, the worshipers went around with great puja and offered the bhog to other god-goddess. Later, a special arti was held. After Nabanna Serving, the doors of the temple were opened for the darshan of common devotees. There was tight security in the temple during Nabanna Puja.
