Sambalpur: Number of underage drivers is increasing again, Strict action should be taken against minors driving

Sambalpur: In Sambalpur, the number of underage drivers is increasing again. A few months ago, a special drive was conducted by the transport department in the Sambalpur district to catch minor drivers. Many minors were caught and fined by the transport department. But after a gap of a few days, the number of underage drivers is increasing at the discretion of their parents. Not only that, these minors often cause accidents while driving. This year 2 people have already died due to careless driving by 2 minors.

Gopal Pradhan of Gujarati Colony under Town Police Station was walking to Lakshmi Takies on the evening of the 16th. He was seriously injured after being hit by a minor’s scooter (OR15BR5695) in front of the women’s police station. He died under treatment at Burla Hospital. Ashish Kerketa of Laripally was killed in an accident that took place in the Mehulpali police station area last February. On the afternoon of February 16, Ashish and his 2 friends were riding a bike (OR 09Q840) when they lost control and fell off the road.

The injured were taken to Kuchinda Hospital. The doctor declared Ashish Kerketa dead there. The minor who was driving was also seriously injured. He was sent to Burla. A complaint was also lodged in the police station that the accident occurred due to the careless driving of the said minor. Such accidents are happening due to the careless driving of minors. Neither the traffic police nor the transport department is looking at it. After the opening of the school, many minors started going to school. Strict action has been taken against minors driving.
